Project Description
Challenge Based Innovation (CBI) is a project course, where multidisciplinary student teams and their instructors collaborate with researchers at CERN to discover novel solutions for the future of humankind. The projects are an elaborate mixture, where the technologies derived from research at CERN meet societal, human-driven needs.
In CBI Barcelona, six student teams from ESADE (http://www.esade.edu/en/), IED Barcelona (https://iedbarcelona.es/en/) and UPC (https://www.upc.edu/en) develop solutions to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
2 (Zero Hunger),
3 (Good Health and Well-Being),
4 (Quality Education),
5 (Gender Equality),
6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and
7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).
The student teams’ final presentations took place at CERN IdeaSquare in December 2018. The team’s visits to CERN are documented in the Indico stystem at https://indico.cern.ch/category/10576/
Part of the teams are currently pursuing incubator programs and other forms of continuation on their journey. The final presentations will be updated on this page, after a waiting period, in the summer of 2019.
